In addition to the default properties of Object Control Properties, these additional facilities are available when editing the Object Control Properties of Base Classes.
Developer privileges
Visible: For each group of Object Control Properties you can enable or disable its visibility to the developer by clicking on this icon on the right
Read Only: For each group of Object Control Properties you can enable or disable the read/write status by clicking on this icon on the right.
Developer Help Jumps
By default the XpertRule help file with a specific context topic is called up when the developer presses the F1 key on a selected object in the Knowledge Explorer window.
Using the HelpJump property's browse button, you can locate and specify an alternative help file with an optional Context_ID. The syntax for including a context ID is to add a comma then the number after the help file name. e.g. xrkb.hlp, 1000
Alternatively, you could jump to other file types, such as MS-Word documents or Browser based help files.
User Defined Subgroups and Properties
The icon tools at the bottom left of the Object Control Properties window provides these facilities to create new user defined Subgroups of properties as well as new user defined properties.
When you create a new subgroup or property this icon will appear next to it to denote that it is "user defined".
Add a user defined Subgroup: This enables a new sub group to be created at the current insertion point.
Add a user defined Property: This enables a new property to be created at the current insertion point. Once created, you can use drag and drop to move User Defined properties between subgroups.
Delete a user defined Subgroup or Property: To delete a selected property or an entire subgroup.
Edit a user defined Subgroup or Property: To edit a selected property or subgroup. For subgroups, the only editing is for the name of the subgroup. For properties, the editing varies depending upon the type of the property. Lists have a similar editor to the Instances editor to define the values for the list.
You can also set the security "roles" of Subgroups and Properties - see the section on Manage Users in Project Tools for an explanation of security roles.
